A Pennsylvania native, Sarah Ewald grew up enjoying baking at home and cooking with her father. Sarah graduated as an Interpersonal Communications major before deciding to pursue her passion with a career as a Pastry Chef. Realizing her lifelong dream, Sarah returned to school at The French Culinary Institute studying the intricacies of classic French pastry and baking. Following culinary school, Sarah continued her education by working in some of New York City’s best kitchens starting at Eleven Madison Park and then five years with the Jean Georges Restaurant Group.
Following a stint in Boston, where she was recognized by Boston Magazine as Pastry Chef of the Year in 2010, Sarah returned to New York City taking the position of Pastry Chef at L’Artusi. In 2015, Sarah was promoted to Executive Pastry Chef of Epicurean Group where she oversees the pastry program for dell’anima, L’Artusi, L’Apicio and Epicurean Events.
When Sarah is not in the kitchen, she can be found either running, practicing yoga, or spending time with her two cats at home in Brooklyn.
